Case study

Conversion tracking and promoter sales for Bali event hosts

Balievents, the event platform Koza Lab builds and runs, records where each booking came from and gives those numbers to the host. A host can fire its own ad pixels on its events, give each promoter a personal link, follow sales by source in the dashboard and check guests in with a QR scan; the 20 busiest hosts also get a PDF of their week every Monday.

FeatureWhat it does
Host ad pixelsThe host saves its Meta pixel, TikTok pixel and Google Ads ID once, and every event it hosts fires them, so its own ad accounts see the views and purchases. Only on the live site, and only when the visitor allows ad cookies.
Promoter linksEach promoter gets a short link and a code. A sale through it is credited to that promoter (30 days, last click) with the commission the host set.
Sales by sourceThe host dashboard splits ticket sales by where the buyer came from.
QR check-inEvery booking, free or paid, gets a QR ticket by email; the host scans it at the door from the dashboard.
Weekly reportEvery Monday at 10:00 Bali time, each of the 20 busiest hosts gets a two-page PDF of its own week by email.

Why give hosts their own pixels?

Venues in Bali run their own Instagram, TikTok and Google ads, and an ad account can only optimize for purchases it can see. Each host’s tags are named separately from Balievents’ own, so the host’s Meta pixel receives only the host’s events and Balievents’ data never reaches the host’s account.

How does Balievents measure its own funnel?

  • Every page view, Book press, checkout and payment is logged in Balievents’ own database, with crawlers and its own test traffic flagged and left out.
  • The tables are copied into BigQuery every day, where a reconciliation flags any paid order that has no booking.
  • Paid search ads run only for events sold through Balievents’ own checkout, and each purchase is reported back to Google Ads as a conversion.

What does it not do?

Promoter commissions are recorded and shown, but the venue pays its promoters itself. The host’s purchase pixel fires when the buyer comes back to the event page after paying; there is no server-side conversion feed yet.
